Ethical Fairmined gold
Blancca is a licensed Fairmined brand. We are committed to using only ethical Fairmined gold to create the five-micron thick gold plating used on our pieces. Fairmined is an assurance label that certifies gold from artisanal and small-scale mining organizations, which meet world leading standards for responsible practices, delivering social development and environmental protection. We have chosen to join Fairmined as the goal of this label is to transform mining into an active force for good, driving social development in communities and protecting the environment, whilst also enabling our customers to wear pieces made from gold they can be proud of.

100% recycled silver
For the 925 silver used for our gold-plated pieces, we have opted for the most environmentally sound solution from those currently available in France for this material: Recycling. Our jewelry is made using a base of certified silver which is fully recycled, traced and audited. The advantage of recycled silver is that it can be reused endlessly without its quality ever diminishing, and with minimal impact on the environment. We want to push our commitment to ecological issues ever further, so we have opted not to use any chemical treatment on this silver, such as rhodium-plating, for example.
100% made in France
We have taken the decision to work with the most exceptional workshops, who share our values and are committed to upholding our practices promoting ethical and sustainable production. Our pieces are designed in our Paris offices, then are manufactured and finished by hand by our artisan smelters and jewelers in their workshops. We then individually check each and every piece before it is shipped to you. Only the gold plating, which cannot currently be undertaken ethically in France, is performed in the United Kingdom, before being returned to France for the final steps. We employ a production process which is as local as possible, firstly to support the work of our French artisans, but also because it is important for us to reduce our environmental impact to the very minimum.
Transparency
We believe that there is no ethical commitment without complete transparency. Therefore, we have taken the time to get to know everyone who takes part in the process to manufacture our pieces, and all of our partners agree to submit any subcontractors they use to us for approval. The origin of our materials can be clearly identified, by both us and you. We have a fair pricing policy, with no hidden costs or unfair margins. Our prices correspond to the value of the precious metal that we use and the expertise of the French artisans we partner with.
Sustainability
Our collections have been designed with the aim of creating pieces that will be kept for a lifetime, and which can be handed down through the generations. Gold-plated silver, composed of 925 silver covered with 5 microns of 18-carat gold (in compliance with French legislation), is a noble precious material which can be identified by its gold-plated silver hallmark. Gold-plated silver is a living material, which changes and acquires a patina with time. Should any of our customers be interested, we offer a gold-plating service to bring new life and luster to jewelry. We use biodegradable materials to package our jewelry, which will be delivered to you via a carbon neutral shipping service. In more general terms, we are constantly seeking to improve our environmental footprint, both in our production methods and our daily operations.
